Lakeshore / Stavebank Intersection
- The City’s Transportation and Works Dept. is reviewing
the safety and efficiency concerns at this intersection. Significant changes
were proposed, however, the public voiced many concerns about the
proposed changes at an Open House at the Port Credit Library on
September 25, 2007.
- TOPCA has been represented in correspondence to the City, and in
meetings with interested Stakeholders, in order to explore alternate
options:
- Construction is on hold until further consideration is given to public
comments.
- A
Public Information Centre
(click for the Notice) was held on June 23, 2009. The
City has provided an electronic copy of the presentation
featuring four (4) alternative solutions proposed by the
Transportation and Works Dept. to deal with the safety and
efficiency concerns,
including the City's preferred option (#3).

- UPDATE: On Sept. 30,
2009, a
Notice of Study Completion was issued regarding the Environmental
Assessment (EA) conducted in the immediate area of the
intersection. In addition, a
Summary of Public Comments was also issued, further to the June
23rd PIC. The preferred alternative (#3) is confirmed, including re-alignment of Stavebank Road South to better align with the
north approach with minimal impact to Lakeshore Road East.
This will entail removal of the CIBC building at the SE corner of
the intersection.
NOTE: Any further public comment is requested by October 30, 2009. A review copy of the Project File Report is available at the Port Credit Library at 20 Lakeshore Rd. E. (map).
