Mississauga Residents' Associations Network

TOPCA was part of a Steering Group formed in March 2008 to explore the creation of a City-wide network of Ratepayer and Resident Associations, with a view to working together on significant City-wide issues.  Representatives of 20 R.A.s from all over Mississauga were part of this exploratory phase, which included creation of Terms of Reference, and working collaboratively on the Infrastructure Tax Levy issue.

The intention is to work in a positive and constructive manner with the City and other levels of government to promote the interests of Mississauga residents.  The network model enables distributed leadership and ongoing cooperation among R.A.s in order to exchange timely information, share best practices and foster community engagement in the public decision-making process.

The Network was launched in October 2008 and TOPCA is a member association.  There is a MIRANET website to track City-wide issues: www.MIRANET.ca
